I just realized that I’ve already been blogging for 1,5 weeks on english.veracamilla.nl, and that I didn’t even properly introduce myself! I’m sorry for being so rude. *Shakes hand/hugs/gives 3 three kisses* (yes, three. Dutchies love kissing very much). My name is Vera, my second name is Camilla and my last name is Lucker. Vera Camilla Lucker, 21 years old, born and raised in The Netherlands.
I’ve been blogging on my Dutch blog since 2009 and it’s my full-time job since 2011. Everyday I write reviews of nail polish, blush and lipstick in my bedroom at my glass desk. I started blogging because I wanted to write more and I also wanted to improve my grammar. And… because I was a bit bored. I decided to start a beautyblog, because makeup was my biggest obsession. At that time I basically only had an 88 palette and some Coastal Scents brushes, and I loved it.
The more I blogged, the more excited that I got. ’100 readers in one week? Wow! 2 comments on my latest blogpost, unbelievable!’ I started to believe that this really could be something…

And crazy enough, I was right. Ever since I was a little kid, I wanted to have my own magazine. I wrote little articles on paper, and later even on my computer. I think my blog is the modern version of a magazine. As a kid I wanted to make the entire magazine. Shoot the pictures, create the design and write the articles. I didn’t even think it was possible, but it’s exactly what I’m doing right now. It’s really crazy.
Besides blogging I’m really into shopping, movies, music and… More shopping. I am in love with Drake, I breathe his music. I also adore Fast & The Furious Movies, Shakespeare and pasta pesto. My hair is blond with purple, I can move my left ear and I have scar (that you can barely see) above my left eyebrow. My favorite lipstick colour is red, which is also my favorite nail polish colour, besides black and mint green.
I would also love to hear something about you!
In ‘Playing With Makeup’ I experiment with different make-uplooks. These aren’t make-uplooks that I actually wore throughout the day. I just made them for fun, they are not wearable. This Playing With Makeup is inspired by the bronzy eyes and yellow (yes, yellow) lips J.lo’s wears in the Live It Up music video.
When it comes to make-up brushes, Real Techniques is my favourite brand. I already have a lot of pink/purple/orange brushes standing in the glass jar with all off my make-up brushes, but recently I added some white to my collection. The Real Techniques Duo Fiber collection is a Limited Edition set with 3 brushes that are are available for a limited period of time.
Here in Holland, we don’t have a lot of exciting drugstore brands. So it’s really cool when a really simple brand like Vaseline starts releasing affordable Limited Edition products. And not just any Limited Editions, but really classy ones. Pink Bubbly has a champagne flavour and scent. The Lip Therapy balm comes in a cute little tin, with 0% alcohol.
On my Dutch blog one of my readers replied in a comment on the MAC Candy Yum Yum lipstick review, that Sleek’s Amped was quite possible a dupe of the famous lipstick. This was very good news, since a lot of beautylovers are trying to get a taste of Candy Yum Yum, what leads to the lipstick being sold out for the majority of time. A good dupe is more than welcome!
